KJYD High Holidays Camp Q&A

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: Where do I drop off my child/children?

A: The Ramaz Lower School ONLY, beginning at 10:00 am. We will have staff and signs letting you know what classroom your child should be brought to.

Q: What if we are attending services at 78th Street?

A: You can drop your child off in the Ramaz Lower School, or we will provide adult escorts between the Lower School and Upper School every 15 minutes. This will make the program accessible to all children regardless of where parents are attending services.

Q: Will there be any youth groups at all at the Ramaz Upper School on 78th Street?

A: Only minimal babysitting will be available in the Ramaz Upper School for ages 3 and up.

Q: When is pick up?

A: Pick up will be at 1:00 pm from the Ramaz Lower School. Parents are asked to pick up their children at the conclusion of services. We ask for your promptness, so our leaders can join their families.

Q: If I have a ticket for a service other than the Ramaz Middle School on 85th St., will I be able to easily enter the Ramaz Middle School to drop off and pick up my child?

A: Any family who registers ahead will be on a list at the Lower School so they can easily enter the building to access their children.

Q: How do I register my child for The KJYD Holiday Camp?

A: At CKJ.ORG/KJYDCAMP

Q: Can I join a service closer to my child if I need to stay there?

A: The services are oversubscribed already, so in order to safely and comfortably accommodate our members, we ask parents to attend the minyan for which they received tickets. We apologize if this is an inconvenience, and we are grateful for your cooperation. If you have an extenuating circumstance and feel you must be in the same building as your child throughout services, we ask you to please let us know, and we will try to accommodate you, though it might be on a standing-room-only basis.

Q: If there is an issue with my child while I’m at services, how will I know?

A: We have an established protocol to relay important messages between the facilities should the need arise. By registering your child we will be able to have a list of the children joining us and where their parents will be attending services, should we need to get them.

Q: Can I stay with my child?

A: In order to create a welcoming environment for all children, we ask parents to leave their children in groups. We have up-sized and professionalized our team to do our best to care for your children in a safe, caring, fun, and educational setting. We have hired trained/adult/professional youth leaders who have amazing, fun, and content-filled programs in store.  These programs will fully engage your children through their time in groups, so that parent participation will be unnecessary. Further, if some children have parents on site, it may be an imposition on the youth leaders or it may upset other children. Again, we are very grateful for your cooperation. However, if your child has extenuating circumstances, please let us know and we will try to work together with you to accommodate his or her needs.
